The Story of Us: Census 1926
Three exhibitions. Three countries. One hundred years of stories, finally told.
Commissioned by the National Archives of Ireland, The Story of Us: Census 1926, marked the release of Ireland's 1926 Census, the first ever taken of the Irish Free State.
Imagemakers developed 3 exhibitions from concept to installation: designing, building and managing the full logistics at each of the 3 venues: Dublin Castle, the British Academy in London and Boston College in Massachusetts
Using census records, archival photography, maps, film, and digital access to the newly released data, each exhibition invited visitors into the everyday world of independent Ireland, family life, language, faith, migration, and the people who shaped a nation a century ago.
